We will be putting in this section a lot of case-law, hopefully by sub-section, that seems to crop up in family law cases. The caselaw is a great indicator of what way the judges will rule on a fact pattern. Of course, you need a case that has similar facts and hasn’t been overruled by other cases. We will most likely not put in any cases that predate 1990 because we don’t want to confuse you in your search. This is despite the fact that good case-law may predate this period. We are doing this to simplify the search and because once you have direction you should be seeking actual legal advice from an attorney.

If you or your ex-spouse moving then the Legislature has provided guidelines that need to be followed.

The Utah Legislature has also provided parent-time guidelines based on a child(s) age. These guidelines are commonly referred to as the Minimum Guidelines. Links are found below
