The State of Utah has developed the OCAP program to assist people in preparing and filing divorces without an attorney. Currently OCAP helps people prepare and file a default divorce , or a divorce where both parties have stipulated .OCAP is also able to prepare and file documents to establish Paternity . The Online Court Assistance Program also address are Guardianship of a minor and Civil Stalking Injunctions. Mediation
The Utah Courts have provided helpful information on mediation including a list of court approved mediators for family law matters.

Mediation has become mandatory in the state of Utah when there is a family law issue. The state has two different mediation programs that can be confusing to people.
~ The first mediation program is attached to the Mandatory mediation requirement.

~ The second mediation program is the Co-parenting mediation program that started in the Third District and that is designed to address parent-time disputes. If parties in the third district have parent-time disputes before they can take the matter to court they must attend co parenting mediation, Get The Info Here.
Divorce Education Classes/Courses
Any person seeking to obtain a divorce that has minor children is required to take a divorce orientation class
and a divorce education class.
Courts calendars and when the classes will be offered can be viewed here.
The requirements for the classes are located at Utah Code Section 30-3-11.3.

The current cost of the classes are:
Divorce Orientation = $20.00
Divorce Education = $35.00

Late arrivals and minor children will not be admitted.
If the class is not located within 60 miles you can take the divorce education by videotape.
You still must take the divorce orientation class as it is not offered on videotape at this point.
